• Newton currently has a proposed ordinance to allow property owners to create accessory apartments as internal or detached units. On Mon., Jan. 23, the Zoning & Planning (ZAP) Committee approved 5-2-1 (Baker opposed; Sangiolo, Yates abstained).  Here is the latest draft  (changes from previous draft in yellow).The new ordinance goes to the City Council on Mon., Feb. 6.
